COVID-19 Ready

In preparation for re-opening of our stores we are committed to ensuring we operate in a safe environment for colleagues and customers. All our safety changes are in line with Government’s 5 step to being COVID-19 secure plan as shown below:


1. Carry out a COVID-19 Risk Assessment

We have completed Store Risk Assessments alongside individual Return to Work Assessments for our Retail colleagues. Risk Assessments have been carried out in our Support Centre and Warehouse, and ‘home working’ Risk Assessments are complete for those colleagues who are able to work from home.


2. Develop cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures

We have established clear handwashing and hygiene protocols in all parts of the business, with Retail and Warehouse cleaning routines documented throughout the working day. Sanitiser stations have been set up as well as greeters in stores to disinfectant basket handles.

To further minimise the risk of the virus, we have closed our fitting rooms and introduced a 72hr quarantine period for all returned stock. Posters have been produced to remind colleagues and customers of these hygiene procedures


3. Help people to work from home

We have ensured all colleagues who are able to work from home have right equipment to enable them to do this. Regular email communication, Microsoft Teams and Zoom are utilised to ensure everyone is kept up to date.


4. Maintain 2m social distancing, where possible

We have produced signage for Stores, Warehouse & Support Centre regarding social distancing as well as floor tape to help everyone keep 2m apart, our stores have been given practical advice in terms of the number of customers allowed in store at any one time to help keep everyone safe.


5. Where people cannot be 2m apart, manage transmission risk

We have supplied our colleagues with PPE (use of which is optional), including face coverings, visors and disposable gloves and at our checkouts protective screens have been installed.

Throughout the business we have revised our protocols for working deliveries, with back to back or side-to side working in warehouse operation, and arrival & departure times in Retail & Warehouse are staggered to control colleague numbers.


These new working systems will be reviewed regularly, and any recommended changes will be implemented by the Health & Safety Manager in line with Public Health Agency and Government Guidelines.
